As long as we have had the cat, he insists on jumping up on the computer desk. It has annoyed both of us, but Merton doesnt seem to receive discipline well. Tonight I think Scott somehow inadvertantly cured him of this nasty habit.

Have I ever mentioned how we like to burn candles all over the house while we are at home? Sometimes its several candles in the bathroom while Im taking a long "soaky bath". Other times its just a single flame lit on the bar in the kitchen. Scott likes to burn a little tealight on the desk while he is writing a paper. He seems to think it centers him to focus on his scholastics.

Ok. . . .so the story is that Merton jumped up on the keyboard and started prancing around while I was doing some websurfing. Scott was taking a break with Reagan, and I was trying to avoid the cat and read my story. Out of nowhere, comes this horrible smell. . and I notice the cat is on fire in front of me. I had to smack out the flame with my hand. Other than some singed fur, Merton is ok. But I think he will think twice before jumping up here again.
