Indulgences
71. I was blond until I was about 10.
72. Except for the first half of kindergarten, I walked to school every day til I graduated high school. Well, maybe a couple of boyfriends gave me rides from time to time. But that is beside the point.
73. When I left home for college, I had no clue what I was doing. My parents dropped me off and I had no money for books. I didn't realize that was extra. I ended up with three jobs my first semester. I made a "D" in philosophy. This was a very traumatic thing! As bad as it was at first, I think it helped me develop a scrappy mentality. I was no longer a kid and I had to work hard for anything I wanted to achieve.
74. From a spiritual standpoint, that is a terrible lesson to learn. Some days it is difficult to operate from a state of grace when you are so used to earning everything.
75. I will be 33 in December. I wish we had children by now.
76. I hate the idea of disappointing my family.
77. I waste too much time managing other people's opinion(s) of me.
78. Even after being told Santa wasn't real, I looked around in closets and boxes in our house-hoping the find the red velvet outfits mom and dad must have worn in order to "be" Santa. I never found em.
79. I lived with my grandparents the year my parents divorced.
80. I had an imaginary friend as a young girl. I don't recall her name, but I do remember getting into lots of trouble with her.

:( I didn't know that! You were such a phenomenal student I'd have guessed you were given whatever you needed to be successful. You sure did an awesome job growing up so fast! :) Love ya.

72. We had a story a few days ago about a mother upset that her child had to walk an entire mile to school because there were no bus stops this close to the school. Unbelievable. I remember going to Scenic Hills Elementary, walking what had to be a good two to three miles, every day, all the time, and never complained. It was normal. And yes, it was hot then, too.
